At Custom Painting & Refinishing, we strive to maintain the highest level of quality possible for our exterior painting projects. While working outdoors; there are many considerations we make that most contractors will breeze over or completely ignore.
Pre-Job Inspection For Exterior Painting Projects
Thorough analysis of needed prep-work, failing areas, water damage, and repair work
Accurate estimate of materials needed for job and pricing
Detailed estimate providing entire scope of work and price options
Color Consultation
Meeting with client to discuss color themes for siding, trim, fascia, doors, and other surfaces
Assistance in color selection, including 3-4 test patches for each area to be painted
Guidance on exterior surface sheens: flat, satin, semi-gloss, high-gloss
Surface Preparation
Initial pressure wash to remove dirt, debris, and flaking exterior paint from surface
Covering of all non-painted surfaces, including: decks, concrete, plants, etc
Scraping and Sanding of peeling areas to remove lip and hide imperfections
Spot prime bare wood areas to allow paint adhesion
Full prime on areas where 2+ coats will be required (50% color tint)
Caulk major cracks in wood/stucco surfaces, including where trim boards meet
Masking of all windows, doors, and fixtures not being painted
Coating Application
Large siding areas, eaves, and soffits will be sprayed using an airless paint sprayer (unless alternative method is requested or specified)
Trim, fascia, doors, and windows will be brushed and rolled by hand (unless otherwise specified)
Only the highest quality paint and materials will be used on every job we work on
Post-Job Walk-Through
Thorough inspection of all painted and non-painted surfaces to ensure complete coverage, job-site cleanliness, and lasting quality of the work
All painted areas signed off by client before final payment is requested
Touch-Up Service
One year after project completion, Custom Painting & Refinishing will return at no added cost: peeling, cracking, fading, and caulking will be addressed
Three years after project completion: final touch-ups and any failing prep-work will be completed to ensure the longest lasting paint job possible
