At Custom Painting & Refinishing, we strive to maintain the highest level of quality possible for our exterior painting projects. While working outdoors; there are many considerations we make that most contractors will breeze over or completely ignore.

Pre-Job Inspection For Exterior Painting Projects

  • Thorough analysis of needed prep-work, failing areas, water damage, and repair work
  • Accurate estimate of materials needed for job and pricing
  • Detailed estimate providing entire scope of work and price options

Color Consultation

  • Meeting with client to discuss color themes for siding, trim, fascia, doors, and other surfaces
  • Assistance in color selection, including 3-4 test patches for each area to be painted
  • Guidance on exterior surface sheens: flat, satin, semi-gloss, high-gloss

Surface Preparation

  • Initial pressure wash to remove dirt, debris, and flaking exterior paint from surface
  • Covering of all non-painted surfaces, including: decks, concrete, plants, etc
  • Scraping and Sanding of peeling areas to remove lip and hide imperfections
  • Spot prime bare wood areas to allow paint adhesion
  • Full prime on areas where 2+ coats will be required (50% color tint)
  • Caulk major cracks in wood/stucco surfaces, including where trim boards meet
  • Masking of all windows, doors, and fixtures not being painted

Coating Application

  • Large siding areas, eaves, and soffits will be sprayed using an airless paint sprayer (unless alternative method is requested or specified)
  • Trim, fascia, doors, and windows will be brushed and rolled by hand (unless otherwise specified)
  • Only the highest quality paint and materials will be used on every job we work on

Post-Job Walk-Through

  • Thorough inspection of all painted and non-painted surfaces to ensure complete coverage, job-site cleanliness, and lasting quality of the work
  • All painted areas signed off by client before final payment is requested

Touch-Up Service

  • One year after project completion, Custom Painting & Refinishing will return at no added cost: peeling, cracking, fading, and caulking will be addressed
  • Three years after project completion: final touch-ups and any failing prep-work will be completed to ensure the longest lasting paint job possible

Many of these elements are the same for our interior painting services.
